Unalienable Rights

So as that sweet smells of Summer start to creep in to our nose-holes and we begin to remember that it rains a lot, like everyday. But as we solider on to our respective culinary diversions from our dreams. Rain or shine out there in the true grit, foot to pedal, rubber to road. Pedaling down streets devoid of bike-lanes, person as vehicle. If the people at work only knew the number of birds I flip at useless human beings in such a hurry to get to a stop light. This is all before I even start work I find these small breaks in life, the times spent going to and fro are the sweetest and it gives me that little jolt that reminds me constantly that I’m alive and just how fleeting that notion is.

Next Month we will reach Independence Day the celebration of the signing of the first document making us a country. Most people see this day as an excuse to pound down red, white, and blue beer cans, feast on flesh, light explosives, and fire guns. At times this is the closest any of us plane jane Americans get to knowing what its like to be at War. The constant explosions, the smell of burning flesh, and the constant gunfire. Everybody wants to get in on the celebration, its so easy to get caught up in uproar, but we must not forget the reason we are celebrating the signing of a piece of paper declaring our Freedom. Considering we have been at war for over a decade now that has been fought as we have been told for Freedom then maybe we are should all go back and re-read The Declaration of Independence…

So come out and show us that in this world. The one we live in, where everyday fat cats are pushing papers under pens behind closed doors. Licking the gravy off the $1,000 a plate public meetings.
